Hello from Thailand. Day 8. Today is Sunday and we had a great time in Sunday school and Worship. Kids here love dancing. Short songs like the Hippo song put smiles on the kids face. Kim and Jen shared a lesson on Genesis 1 on how God made everything GOOD.
Next at service, I witnessed one of the grandest singing displays by the kids. They sang with all their heart in an outpouring of praise to God. They didn’t care who was next to them or what they looked like as they praised. The sound was so sweet, it didn’t even matter that I didn’t
The team and the kids had some free time after lunch so we were able to play and enjoy each other’s company. I was able to play volleyball in a different way. They made a ball out of bamboo and instead of hitting the ball with arms, you play it like soccer. You can also use your head, and legs to hit it over the net. I definitely was not good. I kept hitting the ball out of the court. The kids just laughed and still allowed me to play. It was great hanging out with these kids. We only met a week ago and they invited me in to play and talk with them. They displayed God’s love to complete strangers.

As dinner time came closer, we planned to make dinner for them. We made the kids Korean pork. The pork was from a freshly killed pig so the meat was tender. The kids loved it. We must have made at least 50lbs. of meat and it was all gone by the end of dinner. One kid ate 8 servings. It was great to see the enjoyment of the food. The kids were very grateful and it was encouraging that all the kids would come to us and told us it was good.
Lastly we had evening program which was dance like a K-pop star. Each team was given a Korean song which had a specific dance move associated with it. The goal of each team was to incorporate parts of daily living into the routine. (ie. Chores, school, eating, etc). The kids had a great time. It was a lot of fun. There were some creative routines that were funny and displayed some talent.
All in all, the trip has been great. Learning about the kids and what they have been through, and yet they still praise God for all they have. I’ve learned more about myself and the team and most of all, God is being glorified here at Khaodee. God is Great.
